Former residence of the famous writer, this powerful building with 3 fortified walls played an important role during the Hundred Years War. It remains one of the few castles in Périgord to keep its slate roof, it has several furnished rooms, a collection of weapons and armor which makes it particularly interesting. (5 mins away)
Major historical monument of the region, facing Beynac, gardens of Marqueysac, this magnificently restored castle also has a wide variety of period weapons (swords, crossbows, but also armor …), large attack mechanisms nature reconstituted like the trebuchets… In summer, combat shows take place at the foot of the walls.
